About the Program STUKA TANZANIA is a local NGO in Tanzania. We're a community organization focused on developing and managing self-help projects in various welfare areas. Our name comes from Swahili, Tanzania's main language, and it means "WORK UP." With over 8 years of experience, our team of professionals in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, has been making a difference in our community.

As a STUKA volunteer, you'll have a unique experience, not only in your work but also in the environment you'll live in. You'll feel at home, enjoy diverse cultural foods, witness traditional dances, and even join in the fun. You can explore the natural beauty of the region, learn about local medicinal plants, and enjoy activities like white water rafting and safaris during your free time.

We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds, without discrimination. The age range for volunteers is 18 to 85 years old. Your tasks will depend on your experience and qualifications. We're looking for medical volunteers, including opticians, dentists, nurses, midwives, pediatricians, laboratory attendants, clinical officers, and medical students or interns. You should have relevant medical documents to support your role.

Volunteers typically work for at least five hours a day, with evenings and weekends free for your leisure. You'll assist with medical care at our local health unit and participate in community outreach programs, promoting home environmental sanitation and visiting our schools.

We arrange accommodation with host families to help you learn about our social and cultural practices. Program fees cover airport pickup and drop-off, meals, and accommodation. During the week, we organize various evening activities, such as football (soccer), card games, board games, or simply socializing with fellow volunteers from around the world.
